Pattern Print Scale Calculator

Correct a PDF pattern when its calibration square prints at the wrong size.

Your measurements

Use one unit for every dimension in this form.

Size printed on the pattern calibration box.

Size you measured on the printed page.

Keep 100 unless intentionally scaling the whole design.

Formula

Print percent equals intended calibration divided by measured calibration, multiplied by the desired design scale.

Assumptions

  • The printer scales both axes uniformly.
  • The measured calibration mark is accurate.

When a tested commercial pattern gives different cutting dimensions or layout instructions, follow that pattern.

Worked example

  • 100 mm intended
  • 95 mm measured

A correction of about 105.26 percent restores the calibration square to its intended size.

Verification note

Print one page first and remeasure the calibration square before printing the full pattern.
